Donate a Print to Denise and Bethesda Houses.
If you ever had a favourite poster as a teenager, or if you have a painting, or a picture that you love to have hanging on your wall, then you know the positive affect that an image can have on your spirit. Imagine being able to give that feeling, that warm, safe, comforting feeling, to someone, perhaps a young woman and her child, who have recently fled a life of domestic abuse.
Most of us will thankfully, never experience the trauma, fear, pain, and emotional anguish associated with being the victim of domestic abuse and physical violence. For too many women and their children however, abusive situations are a reality, and one that needs to be escaped, and overcome.
Denise House in Oshawa, ON, and Bethesda House in Bowmanville, ON, provide secure Shelter for women and their children, and the opportunity to reclaim their lives, and move forward toward independence, and wholeness.
As part of my upcoming exhibition, 'New Work Jeff Morrison" June 13-27 2015 @ theOPENvault in Oshawa, ON, I have pledged to donate one painting for every five sold to Denise or Bethesda Houses.
YOU can also Donate a Print to Help Brighten Life at these two Durham Region women's shelters. Simply purchase a print at theOPENvault during the exhibition, or online at jeffmorrisonart.com. You will receive a charitable donation tax receipt for the full amount of your purchase, and a plaque acknowledging your donation affixed to the picture frame.
